Carers Week 2009

31.08.09

Carers Week 2009 - 18th October - 24th October.

Carers Week is a national awareness week held during October each year right across Australia. The event was established to promote and raise awareness of the valuable role that carers play in our community and to generate discussion about carer issues. Carers Week also provides an opportunity for carers to come together, support one another and share ideas and information.

The theme "Anyone, Anytime" has been chosen this year to highlight the diversity of caring situations and the often unplanned nature of becoming a carer. Carers Week runs from 18–24 October and will be focusing on the fact that anyone at anytime can become a carer across Australia, regardless of their geographical location.
Carers Week this year will focus particularly on carers living in regional, rural and remote areas of Australia.
